Jeffrey FK Phang specialise in community development in urban B40 areas and advocates for good governance in local governments.
He has served as a panel judge for the MBPJ Good Neighbourhood award, as an assessor under the Ministry of Environment for the Sustainable City award, and as an adjudicator for CSR award under the Malaysia Institute of Accountants. (NACRA).
He has advocated for participatory budgeting and monitoring in MBPJ for over 6 years, and is currently working closely with DEKAT to bring back Local Council Elections.
He pioneered the state-wide partnership platform for Sustainable Development “Komuniti Prihatin-Kerajaan Prihatin”(KP-KP) in collaboration with Selangor EXCO members. KP-KP uses a unique top-down bottom-up approach to eradicate poverty (SDG1) and promote liveable cities (SDG11).
He is the chairman for MYPJ, a coalition of Petaling Jaya residents associations. MyPJ also play an active role in Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM), CSO-SDG Alliance, Coalition for Governance, Integrity, Accountability, Transparency (GIAT), and CSO Platform for Reforms.
He was an entrepreneur for over 20 years, an Assistant Professor with UTAR for 13 years, and an adjunct professor with UiTM for 2 years. He is a qualified accountant (FCCA) with a Master Degree in Information Technology.
