Dato’ Nathan K Suppiah is a graduate of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth , United Kingdom where he obtained the Bachelor of Laws LL.B (Hons) degree in 1990.
OCCUPATION & EXPERIENCE
Presently he is the Executive Director of Isus JVC Industries Sdn Bhd. He has held this position since October 2008. Prior to assuming this position, he was the Executive Director of Matsushita Display Devices (M) Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned company of Panasonic, Japan for over 18 years. He is the Managing Director of SVI Technologies Sdn Bhd and Board of Director of 004 International (MY) Sdn Bhd and Sri Vengk Industries Sdn Bhd. Further, having served in several senior management positions in companies such as Mulpha International Trading Corporation Berhad and Antara Steel Mills Sdn Bhd (Member of Lion Group),
he has acquired wide range of experience and has good working knowledge in senior management environment.
APPOINTMENT AT GOVERNMENT LINKED ORGANISATION
Since January 2019 he was appointed as one of the Board of Directors of the PERKESO/Social Security Organization (SOCSO) under Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) and also serves as a member in the Disciplinary Committee of SOCSO. In August 2019 he has been appointed to the PERKESO/SOCSO Investment Board by the Minister of Human Resources. He is also one of the Board of Directors of the German Malaysian Institute (GMI) since October 2019.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBLE ACTIVITIES
He was primarily responsible for the establishment of the Panasonic Human Resources Training Centre and the Development of the Panasonic Sports Centre in Section 21 Shah Alam. As a member of the Panasonic Group Human Resources Committee he was instrumental in setting up a scholarship fund for deserving students in the local universities.
SERVICE TO THE INDUSTRIAL COMMUNITY
He is the Vice President and a very long serving Council Member of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Concurrently, he is heading the Human Resources Committee and previously has served as the Chairman of the Logistics Committee and the Intellectual Properties & Branding Committees.
He is also the nominated Secretary General of the Malaysian National Shippers Council (MNSC), an NGO under the patronage of the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI). Accordingly, he is one of the members of the National Logistics Task Force, Ministry of Transport. In January 2019 he has been appointed as one of the members of the Majlis Perkembangan Kemahiran Kebangsaan (MPKK), Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR)
At the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers of Selangor State, he was the Vice Chairman and headed the Building and Finance committee till November 2017. He became a member of the Branch Committee in 1997. He was also a member of the Jawatankuasa Tetap Pelaburan, Perindustrian & Perdagangan & Industri Kecil Dan Sederhana (IKS) Negeri Selangor until 2017.
Community Based NGO Additionally, he holds honorary positions in several non-governmental organisations. For the last 15
years he has been the Hon. President of the Persatuan Penganut Sri Maha Mariamman Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam. He is one of the trustees of the Emerald Tamil School in Bukit Kemuning, Shah Alam.
